Hey Golden Knights, The Mayor Emeritus of 210 Has a Complaint

They called me the mayor of Section 210. Then my ticket price kept rising, and the mayor got priced out of his district. Now the Golden Knights’ sellout streak is over, and I have a complaint: the people who helped bring hockey to Las Vegas should still be able to afford a seat.

We helped prove Las Vegas wanted hockey. Apparently, we should have mentioned we wanted to keep attending.

Before the Knights were the Knights, I put down money to help convince the NHL that Las Vegas wanted a hockey team. Eventually, I had my own address: Section 210. Row E. Seat 3.

I went to pretty much every game for the first three seasons. They called me the mayor of 210. My daughter sang the national anthem. My civic duties included disagreeing with referees and alerting ushers when one jabroni was preparing to fight another.

Then my ticket price kept going up.

The mayor had been priced out of his district.

Now the sellout streak has ended, and I have a few thoughts about tourists, ticket prices, and whether the people who helped bring hockey here can still afford to be part of it.
