Before declaring the last star of Hollywood’s Golden Age gone, has anyone checked on Esther McGillicutty?
She had three lines in a picture with Jimmy Stewart. Two made it into the finished film. Apparently, they had time for all of Jimmy’s.
Now she’s halfway through her pudding and discovers an entire era has closed without consulting her.
Esther has a publicity photo, witnesses, and a hair appointment Thursday. She’s unavailable for the end of an era until at least Friday.
